A friend of mine who also writes, wrote this recently, and it's a really good story:
Cartwright's Cavaliers
It's a futuristic sci-fi story where Earth's biggest economy is its Mercenary companies. It features Mechs, and some other aspects of futuristic warfare, as well as some space combat. Plus you have a very out of place kid who inherits his father's Mercenary company, who happens to be something of a brony and Anime fan.
It's a fun story. Check it out.
