A Question for my readers

I'd appreciate a response from those who read this.

Which do you prefer in a story?
a) 1st Person
b) 3rd Person
c) Doesn't matter.

I ask because while most of my stuff is 1st person, some of the stuff I'm looking at in the future maybe be 3rd person. And I was curious as to how my readers feel about that.

Thanks!

First person, but more importanly from one person's perspective. I don't mind the occassional shift to other characters to get some background stuff, but really dislike switching between multiple perspectives.

  2. I'd want to see examples of both because I think that it depends on the scope of the story. It makes sense to be in first person perspective if the story has a narrow scope. If the scope is wider, then you have to force it a bit to have the main character experience everything needed to get the story across.

  3. Hmn, i think as long as it was well written, fits the story and is consistent, either format should be fine? Of course there would be people who prefers one to the other, but we cant satisfy everyone...
